Hindi Department
Established in 1983, Hindi Department has been running under-graduate and since 2004, PG course in Hindi language and literature. Dr. RamRakshaPal Singh, HOD has his PG in hindi language and literature. He was awarded his PH.D. Degree for his work on “Braj kshetra Ka Krishi Shabdkosh” from Dr. BR Ambedkar University, Agra.  Dr. Singh submitted a research report on Braj dialect to CSJM University, Kanpur in 2006-07, which has started a new syllabus on dialectic knowledge to interest in official language Hindi. In between 2006-07 Dr. Singh has published three books  titled “Abhinav Brajbhasha Shabdkosh”; “Braj Kshetra Ki Krishi Shabdavali” and “Hindi- Kamba-Angreji Shabdkosh”, which are of importance for students and research scholars. Under the Principal Investigator-ship of Dr. Singh a two year major research project entitled “ Dalit Sahitya main Baudh Dharm Darshan” with total outlay of Rs. 4.5 lakh, has been sanctioned, which will be useful for hindi literature.
Dr. Arvind Kumar, Reader in the Department has his PG degree from Dr. BR Ambedkar University, Agra. He also got his M.Phil. and Ph.D. degree from the same University. His Ph.D. work was on “ Ramcharit Manas Aur Braj Tatha Avdhi Lokgiton Main Uplabdh Ramkatha Ka Tulnatmak Adhyayan”, for which he was awarded Degree in 1996. He attended refresher course at UGC-Academic Staff College, Allahabad University from 10-29 Sep. 2006.
Dr. Nisha Bhadauria, MA, Ph.D. has been working in the Department since 2004. She was awarded Ph.D. degree from Dr. BR Ambedkar University, Agra in 1996 for her work entitled ‘Shivprasad Singh Ke Upanyason Ka Samajshashtriya Adhyayan’. She has attended 6 national seminars at various places. She has also published two research papers. She was honoured with ‘Mahadevi Alankaran’ by Gautam Budh Panchsheel Shodh-Sahitya Sanskrit Sansthan, Lucknow.
Dr. Snehlata Yadav, MA, Ph.D. has been working in the Department since 2004. She was awarded Ph.D. degree for her work entitled ‘ Samkalin Hindi Kavita Ka Samaj Shashtriya Adhyayan’. She has attended eight national seminars and two workshops.
Dr. Neeraj Kumar Singh, MA (Hindi, Sanskrit), PH.D. joined the Department in 2007. He got his Ph.D. degree in 2001 from CSJM University, Kanpur for  his work on “ Hindi Ke Vikas Main UP Ke Hindi Sansthanon Ka Yogdan”. He has published three books titled “Hindi Vyakran” “Kavyang Vivechan” and “Pratiyogitatmak Hindi” from Sarswati Prakashan, Kanpur during last two years. He has attended more then thirty seminars/ conferences/ workshops at various places in India and presented papers into them. He has published three articles in journals/ magazines and contributed chapters to three edited books. Before joining this College he had teaching experience of more then ten years for UG and PG classes at various Colleges. He also participated in talks aired on radio in 1997 and 98. He has been honoured with “Raghuvir Sahay Samman” and “Nirala Alankaran” by Gautam Budhh Panchsheel Shodh-Sahitya Sanskrit Sansthan, Lucknow in 2006 and 2008 respectively.
Department consist of lecture theaters for classes, a chamber for HOD, a room for faculty members and a room for research activity/ library. Department has a departmental library funded by UGC, New Delhi. This library has 357 books and several journals and magazines. Department has one computer set with laser printer and facility for photocopy.
Students are mainly taught by lecture method. Occasionally discussions and quizzes are arranged for academic interaction. Expert lectures are arranged by eminent academicians. Student’s performance is evaluated by regular tests etc.

Sanskrit Department

Sanskrit Department was established in 1983 at the start of the College. It has since been headed by Dr. Jaivir Singh Yadav. Department has 1 aided, 2 self-financed and 2 non-approved teachers. Department runs under-graduate and PG course in Sanskrit. 
Dr. Jaivir Singh is men of letters. He has PG degrees in Hindi and Sanskrit and other degrees of LL. B. and B. Ed. His Ph.D. work was on a topic entitled “Matsaya Puran Ke Adhar Par Hindu Devpratimaon Ka Samishaktmak Adhyayan”, for which he was awarded Ph.D. Degree from CSJM University, Kanpur in 1982.  He has published 3 books and 7 articles in Research Journals and Seminar proceedings. He has attended 1 International and 3 National seminar.
Dr. Sudhir Pathak joined Department in 2001. Since then he is actively engaged in academic activities. He has PG degree in Sanskrit and Ph.D. Degree was awarded by  CSJM University, Kanpur in 2009 on a topic entitled “ Pauranik Srashti Prakriya- Ek Samishaktmak Avum Tulnatmak Adhyayan” . He has attended 2 International, 12 National seminars and 2 workshops. He has published 3 article.
Dr. Virendra Singh joined the Department in 2006. He has PG degree in Sanskrit and was awarded Ph. D. Degree for his work “Bhartiy Darshnon Main Param Tatva : Ek Samishaktmak Anushilan” by CSJM University, Kanpur in 2007. He has published 2 articles in Seminar proceedings. He has attended 1 international and 3 national seminar.
Dr. Shikha Mishra working in the Departments since 2006 has PG degree in Sanskrit. She worked for her Ph.D. degree on a topic entitled “Mahakavi Bhavbhuti Avum Mahakavi Kalidas Ki Nayikaon Ka Tulnatmak Adhyayan” for which she was awarded Ph.D. Degree in 2006 by CSJM University, Kanpur. She has a vast teaching experience. She has attended 1 International and 8 National seminars. Her publications include 2 articles in seminar proceedings.
Dr. Babita singh joined department in 2007. She has PG degree in Sanskrit in first class. She also qualified UGC-NET examination in 2000. Her Ph.D. work was on a topic “Mahabharat Ke Sandarbh Main Pitamah Bhishm Ke Vyaktitva Ka Adhyayyan”. She was conferred Ph.D. Degree for this work in 2005 from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya Avadh University, Faizabad. She has attended 3 international and 16 national seminars held at various places all over India. She presented papers in all of these seminars and summary were published in seminar’s souvenir.  She contributed chapters to three books on different topics during 2010. Before joining this College she was working at RRG Mahila College, Sumerpur, Unnao during 2006-07 session and worked as Chief - Proctor.
Sanskrit Department has well furnished chamber for HOD, a staff room and three furnished lecture theaters.

English Department
This Department has been providing UG course since 1983, in English literature and language and PG course in English literature since 2004 under the self-finance scheme. Dr. Rajendra Singh has been the HOD since its establishment. He got his PH.D. Degree for “Plays Of John Galsworthy As Criticism Of Life” from Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University, Agra in 1992. He is an academically active person with a soul of a poet. His collection of poems entitled “Soaring Wishes” has been published in 2008. He has taken responsibilities for various academic and administrative activities in College. He has also been the Coordinator, Steering Committee for report of college sent to UP State Higher Education Council and Chairman of NAAC committee.  
Mr. Pramod Yadav is working as lecturer under the self-finance scheme for teaching to PG classes. He has submitted his Ph.D. thesis for evaluation and awaits the formal award of Degree.
Dr. Ansul Chandra joined the Department in 2007 and since been teaching to UG and PG classes.  She received her Ph.D. degree from CSJM University, Kanpur in 2006 for her work entitled “Feminism In The Novels Of Margaret Atwood”. She is academically active and has attended several National / International seminars and workshops. She has co-authored book entitled ‘Margaret Atwood: Jewel in Canadian writing’ with Dr. Neeru Tandan published by Atlantic Publisher, New Delhi in 2008. She has also contributed chapters to books and papers to journals.

Economics Department
Economics Department has been working since 1983 for under-graduate students. Since 2004, Department also caters to PG students under self-finance scheme. Dr. Brajesh Chandra Yadav has been working as HOD since its inception. He was awarded Ph.D. degree for his work on “UP Rajya Bhandararagar Nigam Ke Karyon Avum Uplabdhiyon Ka Vishleshnatmak Adhyayan: Agra Kshetra Ke Vishesh Sandarbh Main” by Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra in 1996. Dr. Yadav has been active in the college to maintain discipline; he is Chief Proctor of the College at this time. He has adorned several administrative positions in the college and worked in several committees. He is also active in the social life and has good contact with the local community.
Dr. Alok Sharma joined the Department in 2006 and since then has been active academically. He has attended several national seminars and presented papers into them. He has also published three articles in national journals.
Ms. Nisha Gupta has joined the Department recently. She is working for her Ph.D. at this time.
Department has been organizing discussions on important topics of agricultural, industrial and labour economics. Students passed out from the Department are preparing for MBA and civil services at the centers. Students are also informed of research work time to time. Through indirect sources it has been found that students passing out from the Department are working in private companies, railways and banking sector. Five students have submitted dissertations working under the guidance of Dr. BC Yadav and Dr. Alok Sharma.
Economics Department has a well furnished chamber for HOD and three lecture theaters. Department is progressing toward the better academic activities

Political Science Department
This Department has been working since 1983. It has been serving to undergraduate students until 2004, since it is also providing education to PG students under self-finance scheme.
Dr. S.K. Pradhan, M.A. (Pol. Science), Ph. D. has been acting as HOD since its establishment. Dr. Pradhan has occupied several administrative positions at College, and worked diligently to perform the responsibilities. He is a man of ascetic thinking and leads a simple life with vision for higher achievements. 
Dr. Virendra Kumar joined the Department in 2005, under the self-finance scheme to teach PG classes. He has PG Degree in Poltical Science from Allahabad University, Allahabad. He qualified NET examination in June 2003. He received his Ph.D. degree from Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Ruhelkhand University, Bareilly in 2010 working on a topic “ Swatantrata Ke Uprant Bhartiya Rajneet Main SP Ram Manohar Lohiya  Ka Yogdan Avum Unki Vichardhara Ke Prasingakta”. He is a highly respected and popular teacher for his command over subject. He has attended 6 National Seminars at various places and presented papers into them. An active person, he has been working as a warden of the Boy’s Hostel for most of the time since it stated and worked for smooth running of the Hostel and maintaining the discipline among the residents.
Ms. Usha Yadav has been working in the Department since 2004. She has PG degree in Political Science. She has also attended national seminars.

Sociology Department
This Department has been established in 1983. Initially it provided only undergraduate course and since 2004-05 session it is providing PG course as well. Dr. Anita Mishra is working as HOD at present. She has PG degree in Sociology and got the Ph.D. degree from Dr. BR Ambedkar University, Agra in 2001 for her work on “Paramparagat Jatiyon Main Parivartan: SC, ST Aur OBC Ke Vishesh Sandarbh Main”. She has attended 7 National seminars and a workshop.
Dr. Nripendra Sinha joined the College in 2005 and since then he is actively engaged in academic activities. He has PG degree in Sociology and was awarded his Ph. D. degree from CSJM University, Kanpur in 2007. He also qualified UGC-NET in June 2001. He has published 6 articles in reputed journals and contributed chapters in 4 books on various topics of sociological impact. He has presented research papers in 14 national and 3 international seminars. He also attended Orientation program at Allahabad University in 2006.
Dr. Reena Singh has been working at Department since last 4 years. She has her PG degree in Sociology and was conferred Ph.D. degree for “Mahilaon Main Rajnaitik, Samajik Jagrookta- Swatantra Ke Paschat Kiye Gaye Prayatnon Ke Vishesh Sambandh Main” in 2005 from CSJM University, Kanpur. She attended 6 National seminars and read papers in them. She also attended 1workshop.
Sociology department has three lecture theaters beside room for staff and a chamber for HOD.

Geography Department
Geography Department established in 1983 has been providing education to undergraduate students until 2004, and since then PG course is also running under the self-finance scheme.
Dr. Netra Pal Singh, MA (Geography) and Ph.D. is working as its HOD since it started. He attended a national seminar in 2005 and presented a paper.
Dr. Ravi Kant Yadav, MA, Ph.D. has attended two National and one International seminars and presented papers into them.
Ms. Radha Soni, MA, M.Phil. has attended two National seminars in 2005-06 and presented papers into them.
Mr. Neeraj Kumar, an alumni of this college joined the Department in 2006 after qualifying the NET.
Beside the furnished lecture theaters, department has three well developed labs for experimental work or presentation. Department has different types of maps and equipments (clinometre, prismatic compass, dumpy level, ranging rod, trough compass, spirit level, plan table) needed for geographical studies.
Students have been taken to academic tours of Mathura (2005) and Rajasthan (2010) region in the last few years.

History Department
Department of History started in the College along with its establishment in 1983. The department is running under graduate classes in History for BA students. Dr. Pratyush Tiwari, MA, Ph.D., working as its present HOD, is a man of academic taste. He received his Ph.D. degree from Jiwaji University, Gwalior (MP) working on ‘The Role Of Bundela And Sindhiya Rulers In The Social And Religious Coordination: A Comparative Study’. He has contributed articles to Journals and attended several seminars and conferences. His teaching style is indeed very unique for which he has learned sufficient fame among the students.
Dr. KK Yadav has been teaching in the Department since 2006. He received his Doctorate degree from Lucknow University, Lucknow (UP) in 2008 for his work entitled ‘East India Company Ke Antargat Bhartiya Sanvaidhanik Vikas: Ek Athasik Adhyayan (1773-1858)’. He completed PG Diploma in Archeology and Museology from University of Lucknow. He participated in UP History Congress (20th session) and presented a research paper. He also attended a National Seminar organized by Sri JN PG College, Lucknow and presented a paper. He has one research article published in “Ektasutra”, an union magazine of UPPWD in June-Sep-2007.
Department has a well furnished room for faculty members beside lecture theaters for classes. There are 370 students in the department at under-graduate level with history as a subject. Result of students in History subject has been quite good. Students passing out of Department are pursuing higher studies or have succeeded in getting a respectable job. Some of the students are active in social and political areas

Music Department
Music Department has been working under the self-finance scheme for undergraduate course in vocal and instrumental music since 2004. Dr. Nidhi Pandey, present HOD, has her PG degree in Music-Vocal with Gold Medal from Rohilkhand University, Bareilly. She also got her Ph.D. in Music from the same University in 2001. She is the recipient of several scholarships and awards. She received Badaun Jaycees Honour in 1987; NCC ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificates in 1989; University Music Competition in 1991; UP -  Sangeet Natak Academy Competitionin 1994; Sangeet Prabhakar from Prayag Sangeet Samimti, Allhabad in 1994; Light Music Artist, AIR, Rampur in 1994; SRS University Competition- Vocal and Classical in 1994; Gold Medal in MA, 1995; Shakeel Budauni Award in 2000; Budaun Club Honour in 2000; Srikrishna Janmotsav (Police Honours) in 2000; and Budaun Mohotsav Commendation in 2001. Her specialized skills are Indian Classical music, gazal composition, good knowledge of harmonium and violin playing etc.
Mr. Lal Babu Nirala has been working in the Department since 2006. He got his PG degree in Chemistry before picking up career in Music.  He has Senior Diploma in Tabla from Prayag Sangit Samiti Allahabad (UP) and passed with distinction in practical. He has also the Pravakar Degree from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad. He obtained Senior Diploma in vocal from Prayag Sangeet Samiti in 2003 in first class. He has been awarded with “Tal Bharti” by Nupur Nritya Kala Mandir, Patna of Bihar Govt. He also received scholarship in ‘Tabla’ from Indian Ministry of Culture, New Delhi from 2005-07. He is the recipient of certificate of merit from AIR, Patna and Doordarshan , Patna. He ranked first in Tabla Dip. Hon’s in National Kathak Kendra, New Delhi. He has performed in Utpal Mahotsava Mysour, Delhi, Bhopal, Kanpur, Saifai Mahotsava-Etawah and Amritsar etc.
Main facilities at the department are scale changer harmonium, key-board, harmonium, tabla, taanpura, sitar, dholak, taasha, bongo, manjeera, miracus, ghoonghroo and a DVD player. Several costumes and dresses are available for students which are used for performances. Lecture theaters and room for rehearsals are available, and auditorium can be used for cultural activities.
Students of this Department have participated in several Cultural Programs and have won laurels for the College. In 2006, Students participated in Yuva Mahotsav at CSJM University, Kanpur. Kuldeep Sharma was IInd in light music; Praveen Kumar was IInd in ‘On the Spot painting’ and students got Ist position in ‘Skit’ competition. Kuldeep Sharma was Ist and Km. Vinay Malti was IInd in competition held for Etawah Region in 2007.
Ashahabuddin  was IInd in Classical singing and Ist in light music-gazal in National Light Music - Vocal and Instrumental Competition for Etawah Region held in 2008.
In 2009, Hare Krishna was Ist in Sitar playing and Ashhabuddin was Ist in gazal singing in singing / playing competition for same region. In the same year Km. Premlata and Ashhabuddin got Ist position in pair- dance competition. Km. Priti Yadav was Ist in singing and Harekrishna was Ist in Sitare playing. Students also got first position in drama.
Ashhabuddin also got Ist position in Senior Group at ‘meri awaj hi meri pehchan’ competition held at Mainpuri. Anil Kumar ansd Ashhabuddin were also among Ist ten out of more than thousand participants.

            Students have been performing each year at ‘Saifai Mahotsava’ and they have been praised and awarded by Honorable Mulayam Singh Yadav and other dignitaries.
